IT'S TIME TO GET INVOLVED IN THE POLITICAL PROCESS

I've been canvassing and calling voters for Suzanne Kosmas(D). She's running against incumbent Tom Feeney(R) for congress. 80 percent of people I call don't have a clue who's running on either ticket but make sure to tell me they are party loyal. I guess it's easier to go that route. No thinking or conversation or delving in to a candidate's stand on issues.

I live in a very conservative area. Most women I meet in the grocery store or at church are certainly energized by Sarah Palin. I ask them why and the answer is usually the same. She is great! O.K., but do you realize you are voting for John McCain for president, not Palin? Their response is about the same - "She will shake things up in Washington!" I've decided that I will leave the conversation there, right there. No use talking issues with women who can't see beyond the realities at stake. And they are "scary" real.
I am hopeful. I am hopeful that women will see through Palin in the next 50 days and vote for real change. I am also hopeful that Americans will vote and vote for the candidate that stands for what's best for America.
Let's rise above the "bubba" vote and the "lipstick" vote and think outside our personal interests.
Jesus said to "Love Thy Neighbor" and I think American's have forgotten what He meant by that commandment.
